Ambition and Determination.......

My Cayson!!

My son who started the sixth grade this year and is eleven has blown me away this week with his determination and ability.  He swims on a year round swim team which takes a lot out of him to begin with.  He is required to swim three days a week one and a half hour practices and attend some grueling swim meets.  Lately it's been at least two a month.  Now he has decided he wants to be on the wrestling team for his school which will require every day practices for an hour and a half.  So far this week we have been doing this schedule and poor guy, he is sticking to it and is sure he can do it!  I dropped him off to swim practice last night and he ate dinner in the car.  I keep pondering on, "am I a bad Mom for letting him do too much, or am I a good Mom for letting him try it"?  It is so tough, I guess I will see how things go after cuts!  Cuts are Friday, he has the worst odds being a sixth grader.  It is in God's hands and whatever is best will happen.  I do believe that!  This will be such a good leaning experience for the both of us, I guess.  I do know I have learned one thing, Cayson puts out more effort than I could, ever.  I am so proud of you, son!!!

Bella the Princess

Let me introduce my dog, Bella and how she rules... Obviously!!!! Haha...

Now I know this image of me has got to be the worst ever but I am trying to recover from a hysterectomy and this is way too funny!

She has me almost off the couch, all 18 lbs of her. Funny how these animals come into our lives and take over. Anyway, it's been good to have her by my side and let me tell ya, by my side while I heal.

We rescued Bella from a great shelter called BARK http://www.barkva.org/ they rescued her from a puppy mill who used her to breed her and take her puppies that you see in pet stores for sale and the such. It is really sad what she was put through the first five years of her life. Dogs and puppies in mills live a very unhealthy life. They live in their own and other animal feces, they don't get proper vet care if at all and most important they get no human contact. No love for these babies, especially the breeders like Bella. So next time you are thinking about getting a puppy or dog, please consider adoption. If you have a specific breed you want you can probably find it on http://www.petfinder.com/ if you are patient. At the very least go to a reputable breeder to find a breed. Ask a vet, check on references and make sure that you see the dogs, especially the breeding dogs.

Anyway, thanks for meeting Bella and reading my blurb about puppy mills. If you would like to learn more, click on the link on my side bar on how to stop puppy mills. There is a ton of info out there.

New Things for Fall

Oh, where have you been Beth? I know it has been a while since I have done a thing but I do have a pretty good reason. Over the past year I have had some difficulty in the women's health department. I have had to have a couple of surgeries and tried a couple trials of hormone craziness. But, what was best was to have a complete hysterectomy. So, I did about a little over three weeks ago now. Whew, I am glad now that it is done and now I can get on with my life. I just have a few more weeks of recovery to get through. Thanks to all of you who took care of me, loved me, prayed for me, brought me food, flowers, cards, took care of my kids and for just letting me rest and get through this. Thank you God for the angels you have given me!

Now to the good stuff, I have so much new stuff!! You have to go to the website and check it out. I will also be doing a giveaway in the very near future! That will be something pink. I will be announcing soon.

Remember I still have lots of things on SALE! Go see and get some Christmas gifts for your loved ones.

Caleb's Water Boy Mini Marathon

My Cutie

Got my number, I am ready to GO!

Caleb is the 2nd from the left, bright blonde cutie ;o)

Come on little man, you are almost there! Caleb's in the back.

Swimming the 50. No prob. Swimming is my life!

Mom, you always embarass me, but I am holding back I LOVE MY MEDAL!!

My 7 year old ran for the first time the Hometown Realty Waterboy Challenge. He had to run 1/3 mile, swim 50yds, and then run again 1/3 mile. The running was mostly through the woods too. I walked the route when we got there just to see where they were going.

Wow, I just wanted to share that Caleb did awesome! He did it in something like 12 min. and was the best for the seven year old group. It was funny because the next day he could hardly move. He just sat on the couch and moaned every move he made. He actually came up to me and said he thought something was wrong with him. It was funny seeing him hurt like I would.

Mom Salary Wizard® 2009. Mother's Day Paycheck for Mom's Job

Are you wondering what mom should be paid for her work as mom? Salary.com has valuated the "mom job" of both the Working and Stay-at-Home Moms! Based on a survey of more than 12,000 mothers, Salary.com determined that the time mothers spend performing 10 typical job functions would equate to an annual salary of $122,732 for a stay-at-home mom. Working moms 'at-home' salary is $76,184 in 2009; this is in addition to the salary they earn in the workplace. WOW!

Mom Salary Wizard® 2009. Mother's Day Paycheck for Mom's Job

This is a really neat article! Now all you Mommy's can make and put your "paycheck" on the fridge right next to all your muntchkins artwork.

What Does Your Handbag Say About You?

What your Purse says About You:

The contents of a woman's purse can certainly reveal a lot about her personality -- is she organized and always prepared for the unexpected, or is she a disorganized free spirit?
According to Allyson Waterman, Lucky magazine special projects editor, a purse can say a great deal about a person. She put "Good Morning America's" studio audience to the test to see whether they could determine which of the four purses belonged to anchor Diane Sawyer.
Below is a description of the bags that were presented to the audience:

Straw bag that stands by itself

This bag is very structured with lots of compartments. It is easy to peer inside. The purse contains:
Wallet, Stamps, Treo, Compartmentalized makeup case, Purell, Photo album, Peppermint gum, Photo iPod, Toilet-seat covers, Wet Ones, Face blotter, Pat & go lipstick OR Gloss on a key ring, Brush-ups, Pill case.

Waterman: This bag owner is organized and detail-oriented, with a place and purpose for everything. This over-organized person has probably updated to the technology age, which helps cut down on the clutter and allows your bag to be more streamlined. Consider it a timesaver -- you never need to spend a night digging through a month's worth of bills and candy wrappers to make sure that your bag has only what you need.

The hobo bag

This bag has no structure; it falls flat when placed on the ground or a table. It is a bottomless pit because it has no pockets, and everything is swimming inside. The purse contains:
Overstuffed Filofax, Papers and bills (more than a month's worth of receipts), Overstuffed wallet, Gum wrappers, Fruit gum, Makeup scattered all over -- lipsticks, compacts, Pens, Post-it notes, Nail file, Palm Pilot, Cell phone, iPod with loose earphones, Loose photos, Sunglasses, Rabbit's foot, Lottery tickets, Kleenex, Train schedule, Toothpaste and toothbrush, Catalogs.

Waterman: An oversize, pocketless bag can easily turn into a bottomless pit with an unsuspecting owner not even knowing what lurks in its depths. To an outsider, this bag is a disaster area. To the owner, it is probably organized chaos. The person who carries this bag perhaps has a hippie-vagabond self-image. She may think she's rebelling against conformity. But is carrying the "in" bag of the moment perhaps trying too hard?
Anybody who chews a fruit gum is a great friend and eager to please.
Lucky charms and a profusion of lottery tickets indicate a feeling that luck needs a helping hand. Men hardly ever have these things because many of them believe that they make their own.
She's a woman who wants to do it all. She's working on a system of organization but hasn't quite mastered it. But you can't judge a book by its cover. Disorganization can be a sign of creativity. I would never recommend redoing someone's purse -- it's far too personal -- but a few binder clips, rubber bands and Ziploc bags could open up a whole new world to someone whose handbag is in such a state.

Small, gold, metallic clutch:

This bag is not too small of a clutch but small enough to fit inside another bag for an easy "day to night" transition. This bag contains:
Small credit card case with key fob, Lip stain/gloss all in one, Compact, Business card case with cards, Cell phone, Breath mints .

Waterman: This bag is for the party pro. She knows how to consolidate and be minimal, and she is always on the run. This is definitely not the bag of a girl with a 9-to-5 job. Her needs are pared down, and she doesn't feel compelled to carry around a lot of useless junk. The emptier the bag, the more confident the girl.

The "grab and go" bag

This bag has everything a woman needs to go anywhere in the world at a moment's notice. It contains:
Passport, Perfume, Cinnamon gum, Usually a Ziploc bag of lunch, "mini pharmacy" , The mouth to mouth "condom" (CPR device) .

Waterman: Those who have very large bags filled with things like magazines, sweets, headache tablets and so on are catering for an enormous number of possible events during the day. They're thinking about whether they might get hungry, bored or ill. It indicates a more methodical personality.
Cinnamon gum is for the person who is interested in adventure, somebody who is outgoing and looking for new and novel activities.
The "grab and go" bag belongs to Sawyer.

Polka Dot Tote Bags

Happy 4th of July !! I hope all have a safe and happy one. My husband is taking my boys and I on a "surprise" getaway tomorrow and Sunday. My oldest son and I have been going crazy trying to figure out where in the world we are going ( we do know it's only a couple hours away. ) But still, I am not good with surprises. I was the one when I was little to open my presents and wrap them back up. Ooops!! Probably should not of said that. Anyway, hope everyone has a great, safe 4th.

Take a look at the awesome new totes I added today. They are super cute and they are Polka Dot!! I am using one of them myself and I love it. You can never go wrong with Dots. These come in 3 colorways. There are also polka dot market bags. Go check 'em out.

Open for business!

We are open for business!!! I still have product to add to the website but it is finally up and running. I hope everyone will bare with me as I am not so computer or website friendly. I am learning as I go and I am a common sense kind of girl and computers don't work like that.

Ha Ha!

I have a lot of new fun, funky costume jewelry coming in. I will be putting it on the site soon. I have some new bags too, like the one above.

I plan on having a party soon, so you all can come and see and touch these pretties. Invite will come soon. I will also let you know which home or craft shows I will be in.
